Since the international EPD system has not yet been officially launched, (the rules for its functioning are still being commented upon, up until now more or less compatible national systems have been in operation), the system of EPD preparation and processing in the Czech Republic, which will comply with the international system and will work closely with it, is also in its beginnings. Within this process, CENIA will provide, above all, consultancy to all parties interested in EPDs, monitor their occurrence and maintain their public database, participate in the preparation of rules for product categories and provide registration of EPDs with the responsible international body.

Two EPDs have been prepared in the Czech Republic so far. They are now at the stage of preliminary certification (so far, there are no approved rules for their product categories – PCRs). These can be viewed onthe Swedish Environmental Management Council’s website at www.environdec.com.
